Why so late? It's been over a year that these features are announced!
Unfortunately, we did not have much time to devote to LVSync in 2011, since the end of the year, we were able to free up time and new resources and can now work more consistently on this project.
Why still no read / write
The read / write (or two-way synchronization) has a number of problems to solve and it is a dangerous development because it can, if not sufficiently tested, jeopardizing your Zimbra™ items (duplicates, inadvertent deletion of data, ...). It still needs a bit of development time and we did not want to wait until then to give the advantages of LVSync new features to our users.
I can not find LVSync for Zimbra™ on the Google™ Android™ Market
LVSync for Zimbra™ is an application that requires Android™ 2.1 or higher, it does not work on Android™ 1.x and therefore, it is not on the Market for devices running Android™ 1.x. It does not work on Android™ 4.x "Ice Cream Sandwich" yet.
Can I synchronize my Android™ device with the Open Source edition of Zimbra™
Yes, you can, LVSync does not rely on ActiveSync™ for synchronization, it uses the native SOAP API, and works with every Zimbra™ editions.
What versions of Zimbra™ the application has been tested on ?
LVSync has been tested and works on Zimbra 6.x and 7.x. It should also work with Zimbra webmail from ISPs, if you have problems with your ISP, contact us.
What are the ports used by LVSync? Does synchronization works despite the restrictions of my ISP?
Only the HTTP port (80) is necessary if you have a plan that gives you access to the Internet on your device, then you should have no problems for synchronization.
Is HTTPS supported?
Yes, LVSync supports https.
I have multiple address books, calendars and tasks lists in Zimbra™, can I sync everything?
Absolutely! LVSync for Zimbra™ allows you to find the items of all your address books, calendars and tasks lists on your Android™ terminal.
I have access to shared items in my company, can I sync them too?
Absolutely, as long as you can access them from Zimbra™, you can synchronize them on your device with LVSync.
Android™ does not include a native tasks manager, how do you synchronize Zimbra tasks
That's why we developed our own task synchronization and our own add-in task manager.
I do not see my Zimbra™ contacts
It's not a bug, on some contact managers, new groups are not displayed by default, you must manually force their display in the preferences.
Will Android™ 4.x "Ice Cream Sandwich" is supported?
No, not at this time, the calendar uses different API, it will need adaptations to the application to support this version, anyway, it is planned.
I can't find LVSync on the Market (MIUI rom)
There is a bug with the Market on MIUI roms, if you're in this situation, you can use Market Fix
